Australia has made distinct contributions to society in terms of research, learning,
and teaching. It has a plethora of good universities and institutions. These
universities also provide numerous scholarship opportunities to meritorious students.
Here is a list of five such scholarships in Australia.

  1. Macquarie Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship
    Field: Bachelors/Masters Degree
    Deadline: Starts July 2020
    About: This scholarship is based on academic merit. It includes a partial tuition
    fee scholarship for meritorious students. International students from any country
    excluding Australia and New Zealand can apply for this scholarship.
    Amount: Amount up to AUD$10,000  and will be applicable to the tuition fees.
    Eligibility :
    ● Achieve a minimum WAM equivalent of 65 for Postgraduate applications;
    or a minimum ATAR equivalent of 85 for Undergraduate applications.
    ● Be accepted into a Macquarie University Bachelor or Postgraduate
    Coursework Degree commencing in 2020 or 2021.
    ● Meet the academic and English requirements for a Macquarie University

  1. INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP AT UNIVERSITY OF FLINDERS
    Field: Full-time research higher degree (Research Doctorate degree or Research
    Masters degree)
    Deadline: 7 Aug 2020 (annual) Regular course starts in 2021
    About: Citizens of any international country except New Zealand can apply for
    this scholarship
    Amount: The scholarship covers the international student tuition fees, a generous
    living allowance paid at the rate of $28,092 (2020 rate), and an establishment
    allowance of up to $1,485 to assist with relocation costs and airfares.
    Eligibility:
    • Applicants are required to have successfully completed at least the equivalent
    of an Australian First Class Hons degree
    • Applicants must have met the English proficiency levels set by Flinders
    University for international students at the time of application. Students for whom
    English is a foreign language will need to provide evidence of their English
    language competence.
    • Applicants must not hold an equivalent research higher degree qualification.

  1. UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
    Field: Masters/Ph.D. Degree
    Deadline: 2020. Applications are opened all year round. 
    About: It entirely covers tuition fees and living allowance for up to three years. But
    it can extend by one semester’s extension for Ph.D. students.
    Amount :The scholarship amount is $35,000 p.a.
    Eligibility
    • be a commencing or enrolled international student
    • have an outstanding record of academic achievement and research potential
    • have an unconditional offer of admission or be currently enrolled in a master’s
    by research or Ph.D. at the University of Sydney. Apply here!
  1. UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE GRADUATE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIP
    Field: Any eligible graduate research degree offered at the University of
    Melbourne
    Deadline: Ongoing (annual)
    About: This scholarship is for both,  domestic as well as international students.
    Courses offered include. Masters/Ph.D. Degree
    Amount:
    • Full fee offset for up to two years( for Masters degree )by Research degree or
    up to four years for students undertaking a doctoral degree
    • Living allowance of $30,600 per year for up to two years for students
    undertaking a Masters by Research degree or up to 3.5 years for students
    undertaking a doctoral degree.
    • Relocation grant of $2000 for students moving from States or Territories other
    than Victoria or $3000 for students moving from outside Australia.
    • Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership for international
    students who require a student visa to study in Australia
    Eligibility: Applicant needs to have applied for and meet the entry requirements
    for a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne, or be currently
    enrolled in a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne. Apply here!
  1. UNIVERSITY OF NEW SOUTH WALES SCHOLARSHIP
    Field: Undergraduate and Postgraduate coursework Programmes.
    Deadline: 31 July 2020  (annual)
    Amount: The scholarships may provide full or partial tuition fee payment, while
    others provide a stipend to assist with the costs associated with your studies.
    Eligibility
    •  an International student
    •  be commencing full-time studies in Term 3, 2020; and
    • Must have received an offer of admission and be commencing in any UNSW
    undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree program by Friday, 31 July 2020.
    This must include one of the following:
    • Undergraduate or Postgraduate Letter of Offer (unconditional)
    • Undergraduate or Postgraduate English Package Offer (UEEC) – students must be
    enrolled in the UNSW Institute of Languages and successfully complete the program
    prior to commencing studies. Apply here!
