INTERVIEW

Q1) How did you prepare for the program?

I studied basic concepts of Data Structures, DBMS, OOPS, OS, and Networks. Reading interview experience and tips helped in gaining insights.

Q2) How long did it take you to prepare?

I don’t think I can define an exact time it took but it was a continuous process.

Q3) Tell us about the application and recruiting process.

Amazon came to our campus for recruitment. There were two online technical assessments. I have heard that recruitment procedure varies from time to time.

Q4) What do you think made you stand out from the other applicants?

I have no idea how I raised the bar for recruitment. But my friends really helped me in preparation. My parents supported and motivated me to give my best.

Q5) Describe your experience in this program. Could be your story. Feel free to write about anything fun, deep, emotional, or motivating!

ACMS was a great learning experience for me. I got to interact with Amazon Software Engineers. Amazon SDEs guided us throughout the program and an assigned SDE (mentor) helped in developing the project. My mentor was extremely friendly and motivating. He helped me in interview preparations as well. I was paired with two candidates for project purposes and none of them were from my college.

As we all know, Amazon has a set of leadership principles, the program helped me in understanding and implementing those principles in real life.

Q6) What are some of the tips that you would like to give?

I am not an expert but I would like to say this to every aspirant out there that, irrespective of their dream company, don’t think you are not prepared. Give yourself the benefit of the doubt and never miss an opportunity. Keep trying, keep learning and stay away from negativity.

Q7) Any advice for future applicants in the same program?

There are many opportunities for women in technology, but I think ACMS is the best. It not only gives a push in your career but, you can actually learn from SDEs at Amazon. This is a rare opportunity. Make the best out of it.

Feeling inspired? It’s never too late to set a new goal or to dream of a new dream.
