  • Second-year law student, in good standing, at an ABA-accredited law school in the US

1. Cyndy and Al Baran Fine Arts and Music Scholarship

Deadline: Usually in March every year

Requirements: 

  • Sophomores, juniors, seniors in college, and graduate students at an accredited college, university, or institute full-time or part-time (6 or more credit hours).
  • Applicants must maintain a 3.0 or better GPA.

There are two scholarships available:

  1. For students enrolled in a Bachelor of Fine Art (BFA), a BA in Studio Art, or a Masters of Fine Arts (MFA). Fine Art or Studio Art is limited to a major course of study in Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Ceramics, Photography, or Printmaking.
  2. Music Degree granting program (Bachelor or Masters) with preference given to those students pursuing a course of study in acoustic mandolin or acoustic guitar.

The scholarship can be used toward any item within the school’s Financial Aid Office’s determined cost of attendance, which includes tuition, fees, room, board, books, personal/living expenses, and transportation.

Requirements:

High School students who are graduating from a public, private, or virtual school or a home education program in Florida during the current school year.

What it covers

A scholarship amount of $1,000 will be awarded to 25 graduating high school seniors in Florida who demonstrate excellence in creative writing, dance, drama, music, or visual art.

1. The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC)

SAIC annually awards several undergraduate, merit-based scholarships to new students.

3. International Scholarship for Women

Deadline for batch 1: 28 December 2020

Requirements

  • Available for women from every country except Iran
  • The applicant must hold an educational grade (received abroad or in the U.S.) equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in the U.S. for enrollment application on master’s program, hold a degree equivalent to a masters degree in the U.S. to apply for a doctoral grade program, or hold a valid doctoral degree to apply for a postdoctoral position.
  • The applicant must be competent in English.
  • There must be a plan to go back to her home nation to take up a professional occupation.
  • Must be committed to dedicating herself to the intended educational plan, if selected. A commitment letter needs to be signed by the candidate upon receiving the ISW Scholarship. 
  • By April 15, 2020, the candidate must have received a conditional admission letter from a U.S. University.
  • Master’s professional-grade fellowships are meant for professional or master’s degree-level curriculums, for example, MS, L.L.M., J.D., Arch. Or M.F.A., or medical degrees, for instance, D.D.S., M.D., etc.
  • Doctoral fellowships are meant for Ph.D. degrees, for instance, Ed.D or Ph.D.

  • Health insurance in sponsorship with Sunlife insurance company
  • Expense on Return flight: US$1600 (Once per anum)

4. The Discover Student Loans Scholarship Award 

Deadline: No specific deadline. Available throughout the year. 

Requirements:

  • Open to residents of the fifty United States, the District of Columbia, and the US territories who are at least sixteen years old at the time of entry.
  • Entrants must be high school senior students who will be or college students who are enrolled at least half-time in a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree program or graduate program at an eligible school within one year of winner notification/confirmation or parent/legal guardians of students that satisfy the above eligibility requirements.
  • Employees of Discover Products, Inc., HelloWorld, Inc., and their parent and affiliate companies, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of such employees are not eligible.

There are 12 entry periods over each month starting from 1 February 2020 to 31 January 2021 and there is one award of USD 5000 per entry period.

5. APIA Scholarship Program

Deadline: 14 January 2021

Requirements:

The applicant must:

  • Be of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity as defined by the U.S. Census
  • Be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States. Citizens of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and the Republic of Palau are also eligible to apply
  • Be enrolling as an undergraduate student in a U.S. accredited college or university in the Fall of 2021.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale (unweighted) or have earned a GED
  • Must apply for federal financial aid for the 2021-2022 academic year using the Free Application for the Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by early April 2021
  • Submit one letter of recommendation online.

What it covers

Scholarship awards range from one-time $2,500 awards to multi-year $20,000 awards. The scholarship amount must be applied to the Scholar’s educational expenses (i.e. the cost of tuition, fees, housing, local transportation, books, and allowable living expenses) for the academic year, as billed by the university or college.

6. Ron Brown Scholar Program

Deadline: 9 January 2021

Requirements:

  • Must be Black/African American.
  • Must excel academically.
  • Must exhibit exceptional leadership potential.
  • Must participate in community service activities.
  • Demonstrate financial need.
  • Be a US citizen or hold a permanent resident visa card.
  • Be a current high school senior at the time of their application.  

NOTE: Current college students are not eligible to apply.

What it covers

The scholarship may be used at any degree-granting four-year accredited college within the United States. Recipients may study any academic discipline of their choice. The scholarship may not be used for vocational or technical training.

7. The Hagan Scholarship

Deadline: 1 December 2020

Requirements:

  • ACT and SAT scores are not required.
  • Must attend an Eligible Public High School.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have achieved a 3.75 cumulative grade point average.
  • Must enroll at an eligible four-year college or university the first semester following high school graduation.
  • Must work 240 hours before August 2021.
  • FAFSA SAR EFC must not exceed $6,500.

8. John D. Unangst Memorial Scholarship

Requirements:

  • Must be able to attend the 2021 Partners in Education Celebration on March 25, 2021, at the Drexelbrook Corporate Events Center, where recipients will be recognized.
  • Must be a graduating high school senior who will be attending a full-time course of study at an accredited two (2) or four (4) year college, university, trade, technical, or business school.

1. Illinois Wesleyan University

Only for international students

Merit-Based Scholarships:

These are offered to qualified international applicants with outstanding academic achievement and test scores on the required entrance exams. These awards range from $16,000 to $30,000 per year and are renewable for up to four years. Students who complete the admissions application are automatically considered for scholarships.

President’s Scholarships:

Two full-tuition scholarships are awarded each year to highly qualified international students based on their talents, interests, and academic achievements. The President’s scholarship is renewable for up to four years of study. Applications must be completed by February 15 to be considered.

Need-Based Financial Aid:

Submit the CSS PROFILE to be considered for need-based financial aid. The PROFILE provides a detailed analysis of an applicant’s financial resources. In addition to merit scholarships, students may be eligible for IWU-funded scholarships, loans, and campus employment opportunities.

The preferred deadline to submit the CSS PROFILE is January 1.
